Mini hotel ranking is a simple but precise method we firstly introduces on Miniroom. The reason to step aside the standard 5 start system is because it simply wasn’t managing good enough to distinguish one mini hotel from another. Typically all mini hotels in St. Petersburg and Moscow are promoting themselves as 3 to 4 start hotels. But the problem is that there are more then a thousand mini hotels just in St. Petersburg and they differ really much from each other.

Also it is inappropriate to compare a 6 room mini hotel occupying just one flour of a building to 100 rooms of standalone hotel, even though they provide the same quality of service.

These are the main two reasons behind the ranking we have introduced specifically for mini hotels in Russia. We believe that this type of accommodation is comfortable, decently priced and creates a good competition for bigger hotel chains in terms of price and city center location.

After consultation with Association of Mini Hotels we introduced three brands for mini hotels, they are miniBasic™, miniStandard™ and miniPremium™.
